Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine the association between COVID19 related quarantine or hospitalization on depression using data from 2020 Community Health Survey(CHS).

Methods: Temporary survey questions related to COVID19 were used as 2020 Community Health Survey data. A total of 2,052 subjects were included in the analysis. Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to control selection bias, and factors affecting the depression were used as covariates in PSM. The X2 tests and t-tests were used for bivariate analysis. Multiple logistic regressions analysis was used to adjust for covariates(sex, age, education level, residence area, occupation, marital status and income(household equalization index)). The X2 tests, t-tests and multiple logistic regressions were conducted with the use of SAS 9.4.

Results: After adjusted for all covariates, the COVID19 quarantine or hospitalization was associated with depression. Among COVID19 quarantine or hospitalization group showed a 1.86 times higher probability of depression than the non-COVID19 quarantine or hospitalization(OR=1.86, 95% CI: 1.29-2.69).

Conclusion: An atmosphere of empowering, helping, and supporting each other as neighbors should be created through health education programs targeting the mental health vulnerable group. It will be able to overcome the epidemic situation emotionally and healthy.
